CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that for long-time Y&R lovers, it’s clear that Cassie Newman has had a difficult life on the show. Since her character has been introduced, Cassie has been killed off, returned as a ghost, and even essentially (kind of) returned to the show! If there is one thing that we know about the Newman clan, it’s that they keep the drama going and they do it GOOD!
Originally born in 1991, Cassie Newman was originally played by Camryn Grimes. Most recently, Cassie Newman has made her cameo’s as Mariah Copeland. Cassie is the lovechild of Sharon and ex-boyfriend, Frank. Sharon gave her up for adoption at birth, but Cassie was worked back into the plot when adopted by Sharon and Nick Newman, once the pair had more money.

After Cassie’s character died in a car wreck with Daniel, Nick and Sharon mourned her loss. Every year since then, Sharon and Nick celebrate their daughter on the anniversary of her passing. However, it’s well-known that Cassie’s spirit looms of Genoa, as she appears as spiritly apparitions to Sharon during tough times.

Somewhere after Cassie’s death, her unknown twin daughter, Mariah Copeland. Which added another twist to the daytime drama.
Most recently, with Sharon’s impending chemotherapy treatments, Cassie had appeared to Sharon in a dream. Cassie repeats herself, asking Sharon to come with her. Sharon refuses, saying that she isn’t ready to pass on yet. The dream continues, with Cassie insinuating that it’s Sharon’s time to cross over with Cassie. The scene ends with Sharon sleeping in bed with Faith and Mariah, Cassie’s twin sister. Cassie watches over the trio as they sleep peacefully.
As an avid ‘Young and The Restless’ lover, Cassie’s appearance seems to have a looming question over the show: Is Sharon going to say goodbye to Genoa, and her life, after years of making her character. Or, is Cassie’s apparition only a figment of her imagination. Regardless, Cassie Newman’s dramatic life, tragic death and ongoing hauntings add an interesting spin to the show. We have spent years watching Cassie’s story unfold – and it seems as though she will make her place known, paranormally, in Genoa for quite some time. Especially during her mother’s cancer treatments.
