CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that we are ringing in another week of a filming hiatus as we also gear up for a full week of some of the hottest moments featuring the Abbott family. The Abbott family is one of Genoa City’s most notable and successful names – known for their drama, business moves, and love interests. As we move into this week, we will be watching some of the Abbott’s most dramatic and romantic moments to date.
This legendary family has stolen the hearts of Y&R lovers all over the world. Whether you love them or hate them, you definitely know their names! The ever-popular Abbott family gained momentum with the family patriarch, John Abbott. Introduced in 1980, John was originally played by Brett Halsey; however, he is best known as actor Jerry Douglas. John was the founder of the multimillion-dollar company, Jabot Cosmetics, which is still up and running in modern-day Genoa City. During his marriage to Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), the couple welcomed three children, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).

After his marriage to Dina ended, John married Jill Foster, nee Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton). The couple had Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) before they subsequently divorced. Shortly before his death, John married Gloria Fisher (Judith Chapman). Unfortunately, John died in 2006. Despite this, his spirit and memory have been written into new episodes on several occasions by the head writer.
The remaining Abbott family still actively runs Genoa City. Jack is the head of Jabot Cosmetics and is currently single. He is the father to Keemo Volien Abbott (Phillip Moon), John Abbott III, and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Ashley has left Genoa City but occasionally visits. She is the mother to Abby Newman (Summer King), shared with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Robert Carlton, shared with Brad Carlton (Don Diamont). Traci has also left Genoa City but frequently reoccurs. She is the mother of Colleen Carlton, shared with Brad Carlton.
