CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers here wondering which Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is the real deal. Seriously, has anyone ever sat there and listed her different sides (personalities?) while complaining about what one did seemingly without knowing? This bring up the question of does she have multiple personality disorder, or is she just psychotic?

She mentioned in yesterday’s episode that her romantic side wants her and Nick Newman’ (Joshua Morrow) daughter, Summer Newman (Hunter King), to go for it and take a chance with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

It makes sense since it was just a few episodes ago where she encouraged Summer to go for it, to never accept being anyone’s second choice. It’s a cool angle and fun storyline overall since that’s a typical parenting response. And Summer listened, taking the chance to kill Kyle and destroy his marriage so she could have him. But then why was Phyllis complaining about Summer doing what she encouraged her to do? Well, CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers has a thoery…
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis has a real need
The way Phyllis complained to Nick about Summer going back to Kyle and how Kyle could hurt her again flies in the face of what she’d told her daughter to do. So, it’s reasonable to expect either she expected Summer to take her advice differently, though how is a head scratcher, or she’s hoping for Summer to be hurt again so she can swoop in and be the hero mother. The latter seems more likely given how easily she and Nick agreed on Summer and Kyle being together was a bad thing. Or will be at some point.
This was where she explained her romantic and cynical sides, and how she’s torn on what she wants to happen with Summer. But is it really a cynical side? Maybe she just needs to feel loved and needed after losing out on Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), though she refuses to accept that as well. Of course, there’s the potential she’s up to something disturbing given her uber excited look when she mentioned going to Vega after overhearing Chance, and said “hit the jackpot.” The fact Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chance are heading there to take care of a problem of Adam’s adds greater depth to this and gives an insight to a storyline between him, Chance, and Phyllis.
As of now, what Adam was doing in Vegas is largely unknown, but there’s little doubt Phyllis will uncover what they’ve been up to and possibly use that to blackmail Chance into being with her. Guess her refusing to admit defeat at losing him could be some interesting foreshadowing. Remember, she refuses to be the second choice. This has the markings of a memorable storyline, and CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers will be right here with the updates, spoilers, and fan theories.
