CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that there’s a very good chance Victor Newman might be sidelines in upcoming episodes when Y&R starts filming again. That’s because new guidelines set by the state of California says that actors over the age of 65 are encouraged to stay home as they have more of a risk of contracting the virus. And while actor Eric Braeden doesn’t sound like he’s ready to sit out anytime soon, he does offer some insight about what is to come. Here’s what he has to say.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the longtime actor said that while he doesn’t know all the details yet, he does believe that there will be some significant changes made to the way the show will film and operate from this point forward. He also makes it no secret that he truly does miss the rest of his co-stars and the behind-the-scenes crew that help bring each scene to life.

Eric told the publication, “Do I miss it? Yeah, I miss working with the people I respect, miss seeing the crew. So yes, of course, there’s something about the routine I miss a lot. Maurice is right in that regard. But the repercussions of this [pandemic] are so extraordinary, of course, one thinks about it all the time. I did something on Facebook and close to 700,000 people reacted to it, something paying respect to those who sacrifice their lives every day. They are heroes, the doctors and nurses and janitors working in our hospitals. It is extraordinary, what these people do, knowing full well they could catch this bloody thing at any time.”
Even though the state of California has given the entertainment and film industry the green light to begin filming again, ‘Young and the Restless’ along with the other three major network daytime dramas have not said anything about when they plan on having their cast and crew come back to work. We will definitely update you with all of the latest information as it comes in.
