CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers finds that star Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) opened up about the highs and lows of his character’s love life in the fictional town of Los Angeles that he lives in. Here’s what he has to say.
In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, the handsome actor opened up about the highs and lows of his character’s love life throughout the years. When asked about his love story with Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey), Thorsten offered, “First of all, it’s all the present to me, and that’s one of the tough parts about taking over a role from somebody else. You can do research but you really don’t know what the relationships were. You really don’t and that one, to have a beautiful young woman, who is twice as young as the guy is old, was interesting. I do think it worked but yeah, it’s all about the age. I did have people say, ‘You’re too old for her,’ so even though it was fun, it made me feel like I’d turned the corner many years before that.”

Thorsten also admitted that his character played a bit of a villain not acknowledging that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was indeed the father of Caroline’s baby. He explained, “First of all, I always seem to play the bad guy so I don’t know when that went away. It’s so much more fun than playing the good guy. But, I’ve got to tell you, I didn’t see him as the bad guy. I felt that Thomas took advantage of this poor girl when she didn’t want to be with him at all. He just took what he wanted and I think Ridge also knew that this would be the end of their relationship. If Thomas knew it was his baby, he would never go away. He did what he thought was best for the kid.”
Thorsten also opened up about Ridge’s affair with Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) and how it was hard on him to betray his father, Eric Forrester (John McCook). He said, “ I don’t know what to say about it. When I first heard about it, I thought, ‘This is going to be a rough road for everybody,’ and it was, but it has to be a rough road to be a great payoff. It is good drama but I have to say, some of it you just want to wash your mouth out afterward.”
