Even though the Queen made a historic speech urging calm and unity during the early weeks of the global pandemic that is the coronavirus, many keen royal observers and critics have noticed that Queen Elizabeth has not said anything about the George Floyd protests that have taken place in many large cities from all over the world, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new home of Los Angeles and even in London.

British Royal Family News: Queen Elizabeth And Buckingham Palace Stays Quiet During Black Lives Matter
In comparison, Meghan Markle did make a virtual speech to the students of her former Catholic high school, Immaculate Heart. The Duchess said, “George Floyd’s life mattered and Breonna Taylor’s life mattered and Philando Castile’s life mattered and Tamir Rice’s life mattered. I wasn’t sure what I could say to you. I wanted to say the right thing and I was really nervous that it would get picked apart. And I realized the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing.”
And while there have been several reports indicating that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been speaking to community leaders about Black Lives Matters in the hopes that they can further educate themselves about the movement, it’s been nothing but crickets across the pond. Not only has Queen Elizabeth remained rather quiet, but Prince William and Kate Middleton are yet to make a statement about the protests, along with the future King of England, Prince Charles, too. So far Buckingham Palace has made no indication that says the royal family will involve themselves in any discussions about race issues in Great Britain.
