The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, admitted that he has been having anxious dreams in anticipation of his duty to preside over King Charles III’s Coronation in 2023.
Archbishop Of Canterbury Justin Welby Terrified In Presiding Over King Charles III’s Coronation-‘It’s Giving Me Nightmares’
He revealed that he worries of potentially misplacing the Crown Jewels. In his comments, he said: “It’s giving me nightmares already. I dreamt we got to the point and I’d left the crown at Lambeth Palace.
“It’s obviously weighing on me quite a lot. But it’s just an enormous honour and privilege to do that. And the Coronation weekend is going to be a time of bringing the country together.”
Nevertheless, that is not the only thing that may be an issue. There are potential security concerns that could come to the fore. After all, King Charles III has already been involved in egg-throwing incidents on two separate occasions. This goes on to show that the current monarch is not the most popular person around.
In addition, there is also the question of whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend. Reports indicate that an invitation has been given. However, the chances of them attending are slim. This is on the basis that the date of the Coronation, just so happens to be the same day as their son, Archie’s fourth birthday.
The fans on social media began to troll Welby in light of this revelation. A large proportion of people felt that if Welby had real concerns, then he should be replaced by someone who was more competent.
One person wrote: “Get someone less woke to do it if you feel so unfit, you will not be missed, England is awash with clergy not to mention so many ‘religious leaders’ the King will be spoiled for choice,” while another person stated: “Oh dear, really. Don’t do it then. Nobody cares one way or the other.”
