The door at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell is ever-revolving as 17 staff members have quit since 2018.
Bennett Levine and Bennett Browning Both Jumped Ship
Archewell TV executive Bennett Levine just announced his departure from the company. This exit is right after his former boss, Ben Browning, who produced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix series, “Harry and Meghan,” left Archewell.
At least eight staffers jumped ship since the Sussexes moved to California. While at The Variety’s Power of Women gala, the Duchess made it a point to exclaim that she and Harry had “so many upcoming exciting projects.” As of yet, no one has heard a word about them.
Trashing the royal family hasn’t helped Harry and Meghan’s image, and it hasn’t been very productive for the couple, as everyone knows they are a loose cannon.
Of course, Harry and Meghan have gotten more than a few punches in the gut, as critics have warned viewers away from their documentary, saying that it feels more like a “one-sided promotion” than an objective look into their life together.
Bennett had been promoted to manager of Archewell in 2022. He had previously worked with Ben Browning at Sony Pictures and then FilmNation Entertainment.
When Levine had been promoted, Meghan’s biggest fan, Omid Scobie, was thrilled for them, saying it looked like Archewell was on its way toward huge success.
His exit also comes when it appears that Netflix will soon be on a long list of Harry and Meghan’s failed ventures. Levine had this to say in a communication on social media,
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position at Cinetic Media.”
Netflix May Be Ready to Cut Ties with Harry and Meghan
Netflix has said nothing about renewing the Sussex’s contract with the company. The couple went to Jamaica with Paramount boss Brian Robbins. Paramount is one of Netflix’s main competitors.
Netflix may also want to part ways with the Sussexes, as they were also prematurely cut loose from their Spotify contract.
The couple has had difficulty securing lucrative deals since their exit from Spotify. Meghan signed with the talent agency William Morris Endeavor.
Last year, Harry and Meghan lost their Senior Vice President, Nishika Kumble. Also, Fara Taylor, who led Archewell’s marketing team in January last year, left the company.
After Browing left Archewell, the couple focused on more scripted content. Before that, Archewell’s president and COO, Mandana Dayani, stepped down in 2022.
Rebecca Sananes, who heads audio at Archewell, quit after over a year. Tonya Holness was their PR person, who wanted out after “having to fulfill many functions for the couple.”
Sara Latham, former director of communications, was initially afraid to leave because of Meghan. The Duchess reportedly didn’t like it when people left.
Meghan was also known to leave people in tears. Melissa Toubati left after a short six months. She gave her notification when she could no longer stand to be bullied.
Altogether, the Sussexes have lost 17 of their staff members since 2018. It’s a never-ending revolving cast of characters who come aboard Archewell and ultimately leave Harry and Meghan in the lurch.
