‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Why Carly Should KEEP Kelly’s and LEAVE the Metro Court Hotel to Nina- How GH Can Tie it All into Bobbie’s Death

General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) should keep Kelly’s and leave the Metro Court hotel to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Fans have been mourning the death of General Hospital’s own Jackie Zeman, who played Bobbie Spencer on the show. Bobbie’s death has yet to be addressed.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly IS a Spencer

It’s a poorly handled loose end that should have been cleared up when the writer’s strike ended. This past July, Bobbie entrusted Carly with Kelly’s for her to manage since Carly had to pay that pesky five million dollar fine to the SEC, and she thought she would lose her house.

Carly wants to reinvent herself as a Spencer. That means embracing her independence, which Carly has been doing every time Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) tries to give her money.

Kelly’s has been a mainstay in Carly’s family for decades. Ruby Anderson (Norma Connolly) purchased Kelly’s Diner from Rose Kelly (Loanne Bishop) before she left town.

Ruby passed away in 1999 and left the local eatery to her niece and nephew, Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), to keep it in the family.

In July 2023, Bobbie sold Kelly’s to her daughter, Carly. She was determined to repay her mother the market value and breathe new life into the family business.

Now that Nina’s secret has been discovered by Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), he is blackmailing Nina to sell Carly her half of the hotel back.

They are sorely mistaken if the show thinks it is empowering Carly by having her buy back her stake in the hotel. Yes, what Nina did was underhanded and sneaky. This woman has gotten away with her deception long enough. Nina should be exposed and made to take responsibility for her lies.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly Keeping Kelly’s Would Honor Her Mother’s Memory

That being said, Carly accepting this so-called “olive branch” from Nina is not wise. It would make Carly an even stronger character with more rooting value if she turned Nina down without any intention of trying to get back the hotel.

Bobbie’s death is bound to come up soon, and it would be a fitting tribute to her mother to keep Kelly’s and ensure it is a booming business.

The show sometimes fails to address the death of legacy characters in the right way. Not always, but sometimes. Look at the death of Luke Spencer. How long ago did he supposedly die? And Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Bobbie are just getting around to handling his affairs now?

It’s just plain weird. The show is rumored to cope with Bobbie’s death very soon, finally. It will likely occur when Tracy goes to Amsterdam. Significantly, they decided to involve Tracy, but they seem to be haphazardly throwing this storyline together without adequately considering the show’s history.

GH has a chance to honor the character Bobbie meaningfully, but it is doubtful they will use it. It would be wonderful to see Kelly’s remain in the Spencer family. Carly would be the permanent owner of the establishment.
