CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers reveals that Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) plan to get Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to distrust Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) may have backfired. Victoria wants to purchase McCall Unlimited, and she needs to discourage the competition. Instead of doing that it appears she pushed him toward his father.

Victoria visits Devon and he really can’t figure out why. He doesn’t want to talk about business with her because it is none of her business. She expresses her interest in McCall Unlimited and wants to know if his father has offered it to him. She wants to gauge his interest and wants to know if he is going to purchase it. She tries to sow some doubt and distrust by asking if Tucker told him that he offered it to her first.
Devon didn’t know about that, and Victoria tries to use this to encourage Devon’s skepticism. His father hasn’t been trustworthy in the past, and Victoria tries to make Devon question his father and his motives. When Victoria leaves, she makes it clear that she really wants this company, and she is going to play hardball if she is not able to get what she wants.

Devon doesn’t trust McCall and still wonders about his motives. However, talking with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) makes Devon even more wary of Victoria. Rather than deter Devon, the conversation with Victoria has piqued his interest. He is reviewing the financial statements of McCall and seems to realize that if he could acquire it, then he will have a safety net if he loses in court against Chancellor-Winters.
He actually reaches out to McCall and asks to speak with him, which is exactly what Victoria did not want. It appears that her visit did the opposite of what she intended. How can she get the company if Tucker sells it to Devon?
