Julia Fox Reacts To Her Traumatized Brother’s Arrest
On Wednesday, 8th March 2023, police officers, including a SWAT team of 15 members, raided an apartment on 84th Street in New York City’s Upper East Side.
The apartment belonged to the father of an actress, who was not present during the raid. Her father, Thomas, aged 65, and her younger sibling, Christopher, aged 30, were taken into custody by the police.
According to prosecutors, drug-related items such as drug paraphernalia, fentanyl, chloroform, heroin, crack, cocaine, and pressure cookers were found in the apartment he lived in with his father.
On Thursday, 16th March 2023, she addressed her TikTok followers and opened up about her brother’s apprehension, revealing that they both had experienced significant emotional distress.
In her comments, she said: “I know my brother and I’ve always known him to be like – I’m not kidding, you guys – the sweetest.
“I will say that my brother and I have a lot of trauma and the difference is that I’m scrappy, I’m a fighter and I threw my aggression and was able to release that rage.”
According to her, Chris had kept his anger within himself whereas she didn’t. She expressed her gratitude for Chris receiving the assistance that she had been attempting to get for a long time.
In her video, the model also emphasized that her father Thomas was released on the same day he was detained and is not suspected to be involved in her brother’s matters.
On Monday, 13th March 2023, Thomas and his daughter Julia provided support to Chris by jointly signing a bond worth $450,000 (equivalent to R8 million) to secure his release from Rikers Island.
Chris has a court hearing scheduled for May 4th, 2023, as he faces multiple charges including nine counts of having illegal possession of weapons, one count of attempting to possess a weapon unlawfully, three counts of possessing ammunition illegally, and two counts of producing gun weapon.
The response on social media, though, was damning. Large numbers of people were of the view that Fox’s comments were designed to take the heat off her brother.
One person wrote: “Oh, is that your word now, “trauma”? The free pass to excuse violating others’ rights, present tense?”
