However, Senator Jane Kozar (Beth Chamberlin) learned people know about the Dark Horseman. So, she called the mission off.
Lucky break for Sofia and company, but it really angered some of the people who’d planned to capture them. There are a lot of questions going on, and we believe there’s going to be a tie to human trafficking that’s connected with this senator. Who, by the way, is the one really calling the shots at the DEA. We’ll see if the others involved in the cancelled mission will continue to obey.

Elsewhere, Teresa was experiencing some luck of her own. The police in Bolivia were just about to run her prints, which would have ruined the entire mission. However, Pablo Landero (Pêpê Rapazote) showed up just in time with the documentation needed.
There’s one problem, though. The cop in charge seems to sense something off. And we have a feeling he will dig into this situation until he gets some answers. Whether or not he’ll succeed, we don’t know yet. But there’s no way he won’t try.
We also couldn’t with Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita) acting like they’re putting him out by needed those papers. If his guy hadn’t been duped with a stolen vehicle, this whole thing wouldn’t have happened. And there is no way Epifanio will survive the DEA having a target on him.
If he thought he had a chance, he wouldn’t have gone through the whole mess of breaking Teresa out of prison. So he really needs to show a bit more restraint and humility. He would have been dead last season, actually, if it wasn’t for her.

So, what’s next? La Reina del Sur spoilers indicate more bad luck for Teresa and this mission. When she least expects it, Teresa is taken by force to an unknown location. Someone named “El Tío” will watch her while she’s tied up and threatened with death.
