Political comic and classic liberal Bill Maher mocked several major news outlets for just now coming out and reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop, saying the lack of coverage is why people don’t trust the media. He continued to say that the media didn’t cover the laptop story because it simply wasn’t part of their narrative when The New York Post published the exclusive report back in 2020.
“It looks like the left-wing media has buried the story because it wasn’t part of their narrative and that’s why people don’t trust the media.”
Just last month the New York Times decided to verify the story and say that it was real. The initial coverage detailed how Hunter leveraged the political leanings of his father, Joe Biden, to make money overseas.

The report was published less than a month before Biden’s victory in the presidential election but was eventually banned on social media platforms and even The White House Press Secretary to Donald Trump was kicked off Twitter for sharing it.
The story now continues to grow and there’s more evidence found every day linking Hunter to using his father’s name to make money in oversea companies, and reports even show that Biden was getting in on the action as well! However, I do think that Maher has a point, and that’s exactly why people don’t trust media. All the stories seem to be chosen based on politics, and if you line up on the wrong side of them, it doesn’t make it through even if it is incredibly damning.
Maher is a liberal, but he seems to understand when the left and right are acting like fools, and he seems to hit the nail on the head on this one.
