Pete Davidson has reportedly backed out of his space mission with Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin shuttle.

The comedian was set to accompany the Amazon billionaire, but now those plans have been scuppered. Reports indicated that Pete was set to accompany Marty Allen (investor), Sharon Hagle (SpaceKids Global founder), Mark Hagle (Tricor International CEO), Jim Kitchen (Entrepreneur) and George Nield (Commercial Space Technologies President).

He would have joined a long list of other high-profile celebrities that had done a similar thing including Michael Strahan and William Shatner

But in a post to their followers on Twitter, Blue Origin shuttles said: Blue Origin’s 20th flight of New Shepard has shifted to Tuesday, March 29. Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission.

“We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days.” This news is obviously going to be a setback especially since Pete had a lot of enthusiasm for this. He was alongside Kim Kardashian in a meeting with Jeff Bezos, which demonstrated that there was a clear appetite to collaborate on this project.

Sources confirmed as much: “Pete is excited. They haven’t signed a contract yet, but it looks like it’s going to happen.” This begs the question, why did Pete decide to not go through with this? Well, outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it could be boiled down to the following reasons.

First of all, the fact that they did not sign a contract suggests that there was always a possibility that things could break down. Secondly, in any event, we are not exactly clear about how Pete is doing from a mental point of view.

He has had to withstand a series of social media attacks from Kanye West, which have no doubt had an impact on his mind. But after further reports emerged, it was simply a case of his schedule conflicting with the new launch date which meant Pete could not join.

Pete may no longer be going to space, but he has plenty of things closer to home to keep an eye on, none more so than Kim herself. And out of everything else, that is the most important thing in his life now.
