‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) stood up to his father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and it was a sight to behold. Adam hired Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) as his COO without consulting his father or sister.
This prompted Victor to go down to his office to ask him directly about it only to walk in on his son with Sally as they spoke about their relationship. Victor hilariously trolled his son about why he would want to hire her, implying she was just eye candy. Adam stood his ground though, and even Sally stepped up.

Adam even believes that his father was impressed by Sally and how she defended herself to him, though he would never say that out loud. For the moment, it looks like their jobs are safe as their main attention draws to Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and his lies.
While Ashland believes he’s gaining the upper hand, in reality, Victor and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) are both getting suspicious of him and he probably won’t be able to stay afloat in his lies for much longer. That is the bigger issue that Victor had to tell Adam, is that he wants him to spy on Ashland, and Adam doesn’t have a choice in the matter. I think Victor’s exact words were, “you do as I say.”
Sure, Sally and Adam stood up to Victor about her job, but when it came down to it, Adam is still a yes man and it looks like he’s going to go along with the plan… for now at least.
