Netflix’s ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Takes A Shot At Cancel Culture With New Trailer

The character of Sally Hardesty is returning after nearly 50 years to try to rid the world of the serial killing Leatherface! Netflix’s ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ is releasing this month and will also see the return of John Larroquette, the intro voice of the original film!

The trailer looks decent, and will introduce a new era of characters while bringing back Sally, though she will be played this time by Olwen Fouéré, taking over the role from the late Marilyn Burns who passed in 2014.

“After nearly 50 years of hiding, Leatherface returns to terrorize a group of idealistic young friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully shielded world in a remote Texas town. Based on characters created by Kim Henkel and Tobe Hooper. Story by Fede Álvarez & Rodo Sayagues. Screenplay by Chris Thomas Devlin. Directed by David Blue Garcia.”

Netflix’s ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Takes A Shot At Cancel Culture With New Trailer

While the trailer looks gory and brutal and Fouéré and Larroquette will be the main focus, fans loved the shot at cancel culture in the trailer. While Leatherface is face to face with a group of people in a bus, they all immediately pull up their phones and threaten him with being cancelled if he does anything.

Obviously, this doesn’t end well for them, and instead of attempting to run, they are quickly made into minced meat. Viewers commented on the moment, “2:00 lmao “Try anything and you’re canceled, bro.” I highly doubt anyone would react like that if Leatherface was across from you with a chainsaw but it was funny.”, “The fact that everyone was trying to get a video of him is the most realistic thing I’ve seen in a movie” and “”Try anything and you’ll get cancelled bro” GETS ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHED 😂😂”

Texas Chainsaw Massacre releases on February 18th on Netflix!
