A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring, And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.” even though it was posted to Momoa’s IG page, it was said to have been a joint statement – joint because Bonet herself does not have any social media.

The statement goes on to say, “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty, The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and loved.
We free each other to be who we are learning to become…” in conclusion, the statement read: “Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail✨ J & L.”
In the absolutely adorable story of their first date, Momoa recounted how their first meal together at Cafe 101 was of Guinness and grits, and that he actually convinced her to take him home because at the time he had been living in a hotel. He said that he dreaded his hair for her, even, and that how they first met was in 2005 through mutual friends at a Jazz club.
They had their first child two years later in 2007, Lola, and then later in 2008, Nokoa-Wolf. It was believed that Momoa and Bonet had originally wed in November of 2007, but in actuality, they wed in Oct. 2017, at least officially on paper.
Momoa has always been nothing less of enamored of Bonet, so one can imagine the sheer amount of upheaval the family is having at this time. Though, oddly, Lisa Bonet has always been pretty mum about how she felt about Momoa – although, there have been no complaints so we’ll just say that she’s reserved. Although it does beg the question of who initiated the split, but… we’ll give these two time to grieve. Stay tuned!!!
