Assistant Speaker Of The House Katherine Clark Demands ‘Isolation Boxes’ For Politicians Who Refuse To Wear Masks

Katherine Clark, who happens to be the Assistant Speaker of the House, has controversially claimed that politicians who refuse to wear masks in the political arena should be placed in isolation boxes.

It is no secret that the pandemic has caused mass division between those who favour vaccination and masks against those who do not.

While freedom of choice has always been respected throughout the United States, the very fact of the matter is that there is now a debate emerging as to whether that should be forgone in favour of a collectivist mindset.

And one way that Katherine feels could encourage such a thing would be to identify those refusing to comply to rules via this method.

As of now, fines have been introduced for politicians who flout Covid rules. But if this new method were to go ahead, then it does risk creating further outrage.

In a letter written by Katherine to the House Sergeant at Arms William Walker, she said: “This…will not only protect our dedicated House staff from Members who refuse to follow House rules, but it will also allow those Members to continue to fulfill their constitutional duty to vote on matters before the House.”

It is not clear whether this new measure would stop those from breaking the rules, however. Most recently, two politicians Marjorie Taylor Greene and Andrew Clyde have been fined more than $100,000 because they refuse to comply.

The former has even gone as far as suggesting that such measures are tyrannical and therefore she is within her rights to stand up against perceived authoritarianism.

In a prior statement concerning the fines, Marjorie stated: “I will continue my stand on the House floor against authoritarian Democrat mandates, because I don’t want the American people to stand alone.

“This callous disregard for House rules endangers the health of Members of Congress.” It is safe to say that there will need to be a lot more done to convince people that isolation boxes are a way to get compliance.

With that in mind, we will have to see how this will all play out. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
