‘Welcome to Plathville’: Max and Moriah have healthy communication

‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers ask: can all the couples on 90 day fiance take a course from Max and Moriah on how to communicate? Because that was possibly the healthiest, most non-toxic couple conversation that I’ve ever seen on any TLC franchise.

Max and Moriah are just 19, but they discussed things in a calm, rational manner the way that some 30+ year olds can’t manage to on these shows and it was amazing. Heck, maybe Ethan and Olivia could take a page out of their book as well, that was the most healthy thing I’ve seen in awhile.

‘Welcome to Plathville’: Max and Moriah have healthy communication

First they brought up the idea of kids, and Moriah said that she had always wanted to adopt – awww! She said she wanted to have two of her own and adopt two, and have four, however she did draw the line at four and say that she wouldn’t be able to handle more than four.

Max, who grew up in a family of seven siblings, agreed, and said that four sounded like a good, even number. They discussed homeschooling the kids and while Max said that he saw the value in homeschooling in early life, he said once a kid gets older and reaches puberty that he thinks they should be in a more social setting. Moriah, who feels like she missed out on the whole high school experience, agrees.

Then came time to discuss manner of dress – Max asked Moriah about how she felt about dressing skimpy and Moriah said that she ultmately didn’t care. Max had some feelings about that though and told her that sometimes it felt like she was advertising to other guys when she was taken – but that’s not the way Moriah sees it.

All her life, Moriah was told that the way a girl dressed was potentially a stumbling block to a guy, but she’s deconstructed that belief and healthily said that she does not feel like women are responsible for men’s emotions, and that dressing the way she does is not for attention, but rather an expression of freedom for her.

Even though Max initially asked er if she had to have her ass hanging out to be confident and admitted he was a bit of a smart-ass there, once Moriah told him her views on things – he laid off. Unlike Kim and Barry who would have probably subtly tried to guilt trip her, Max accepted her explanation and they ended the conversation on a sweet note.

It’s so refreshing to see a couple on TLC who isn’t fighting and who isn’t at each other’s throats… we’ll see how long that lasts though. Stay tuned!!!
