The Bachelorette’s JoJo and Jordan certainly aren’t alone when they say they’ve had to postpone their wedding date more than once. Many, many soon-to-be brides and grooms have postponed their nuptials due to Covid restrictions on gatherings and, of course, for everyone’s safety.
It seems now, however, JoJo is at least one bride who is getting the wedding planning back on track…but it wasn’t exactly easy.
“Every time we postpone, it’s had to be one year out from the date because fall is not an option,” JoJo told US magazine, further explaining that Jordan’s football schedule means he is gone for the entirety of the popular wedding season.

The two, who got engaged on the 2016 finale of the ABC dating series have decided on May of 2022 as “there’s only a couple months of the year where our [outdoor] venue is really thriving and beautiful.”
JoJo insists it is the perfect venue and doesn’t even mind that they’ve already lost one deposit. “It’s totally fine. We really do love this venue so much and so we wouldn’t want it anywhere else.”
The couple, both 32 have made the decision that, after cancelling two Mays in a row, May 2020 will be it. “We’re doing it no matter what at this point.”
Initially the pair didn’t mind waiting, feeling they had time on their side and wanted everyone on the guest list to be able to attend and enjoy the ceremony and reception.
“I want it to be everything that we both dreamt up and we wanted all the people there,” JoJo said before addressing those couples in the same predicament. “I would say if anyone else is waiting, just know that it’s going to be worth it. That day is not any less special just because you’ve had to move it. If anything, it’s more special. When life happens, we just roll with the punches.”
JoJo purchased her wedding dress back in 2019, ready for the May 2020 date and admits to worrying she would no longer love it as much when she bought it. She did try on a slew of new dresses, but when she came back to the original, she new it was the one. It must have been that same magic she felt when choosing Jordan out of 26 men all vying for her heart on season 12 of The Bachelorette.
JoJo did say she will be searching for a second reception dress to do a “costume change” throughout the evening.
