‘Superman’ Director Richard Donner Has Died At The Age Of 91

Richard Donner, the prolific Hollywood director, and producer has passed at the age of 91. Some of his most iconic films include ‘Superman’, ‘The Goonies’, ‘Lethal Weapon’ and ‘The Omen’.

Donner died Monday, according to his wife Lauren Schuler Donner. though the cause of death has not been revealed.

Donner started his career directing on television and includes a laundry list of titles, including ‘The Rifleman;, ‘The Twilight Zome’, and ‘Perry Mason’ to name a few. His work there led to him signing on for the 1976 horror film ‘The Omen’, then onto his iconic ‘Superman’ film starring Christopher Reeve.

He is often on the list for one of the greatest directors ever and has been responsible for films that live on today, not to mention his work as a producer that includes the X-Men film franchise that has been going strong for over two decades!

His latest film came back in 2006 and starred Bruce Willis. While ’16 Blocks’ is often forgotten, it still was a fine enough film. The same year he had his cut of ‘Superman II’, which he has his name taken off of after disputes and being replaced by another director.

While Donner may be gone, his impact and films will continue to live on and affect new generations of people he may never have predicted.
