Sarah Ferguson admitted to Town & Country Magazine that she sent an email to producers of Netflix’s The Crown offering her consulting services… but executive producer Andy Harries didn’t take the Duchess of York up on her offer!
The somewhat fictionalized royal drama has covered four decades over its four Emmy Award winning seasons. With 24 Emmy nominations in 2021 alone, they seem to be doing okay without The Duchess, however, she cant help but ask “Hello? Where is Fergie?”
Ferguson is only joking. Sort of. While The Duchess has briefly been seen on the screen, her 1986 wedding to Prince Andrew was quickly glossed over as the newest seasons’ stories revolved around Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s tumultuous marriage.
Sarah Ferguson Offered Her Royal Expertise to The Crown…and Was Denied!
The Duchess may want to count her blessings that she has, thus far at least, remained a side figure on the Netflix smash hit. Her real world and heavy scrutiny since marrying royalty has been all the drama one person could possibly need.
In fact, though she is somewhat separated from it by divorcing Andrew fifteen years ago, her children are still being caught up in their father’s scandalous relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and alleged under aged girls.
Not to say Fergie hasn’t dredged up her own scandals, worthy of the Crown. It seems, however, Ferguson has learned a lot in her over 3 decades in the spotlight.
“When you have a sense of humor and you’re a redhead, everyone takes you for a big hurricane but sometimes, you don’t always want to be the eye of the storm.”
She went on to tell PEOPLE magazine, “It’s like I’ve gotten out of my own way. I’ve really become Sarah. The Duchess is there. Good old Fergie’s there too. But Sarah is authentically present.”
It’s that good ole Fergie side that couldn’t help but ask Harries, The Crown’s EP, “Why can’t I help my character?”
We’d stick to being the supporting cast, Fergie- or maybe ask Meghan Markle what she thinks.
