Someone is ready to be a superhero. Dax Shepard has revealed his “Marvel-ready” body after gaining 24 pounds of muscle during the COVID-19 quarantine.
“In quarantine, I said to [my wife, Kristen Bell], ‘I’ve been waiting for 10 years for Marvel to call so that I’d have an excuse to get huge,’” Shepard told Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis on his “Armchair Expert” podcast Monday.
“And they’re not gonna call. That ship sailed,” he admitted. “I’m 46. They’re not gonna call. So, I just have to do it for my own amusement.”
Shepard said he put on the muscle by focusing on his diet and workout routine, stating that he hit hte gym six days a week.

Of course, being the funny man that he is, Shepard also joked that he also did “heavy testosterone injections.”
Like any other exercise, lifting has not only affected his physical health, but also his mental health.
“Mentally, I love it because it makes me far more on fire to be alive,” he said. “I was depressed after [my 2017 movie] ‘CHiPs.’ I was literally retiring. That was the plan. I’m out. … All of a sudden, I was on fire to work. … This is the version I enjoy. I spent my whole life as a medium boy, and now I’m a big boy, and I like it.”
46 is the new 26 in 2021, and several actors in the MCU are above 40. Paul Rudd is even in his 50’s now, so I wouldn’t give up so easily Shepard. I’m sure there’s a role out there for you. Of course, it doesn’t have to be Marvel. There’s a pretty solid DC Universe out there as well.
