Britney Spears had reportedly called the police prior to her conservatorship hearing in order to inform them that she had been abused.
Britney Spears Informed The Police That She Was A ‘Victim Of Conservatorship Abuse’
According to The New Yorker, Britney had mentioned that she would like to ‘report herself as a victim of conservatorship abuse.’ While there is still speculation as to what the police said, any information is not going to be forthcoming as the call will not be made available for public hearing. This is due to the fact that an investigation is being carried out.
In a statement given to Us Weekly by the authorities, they confirmed that Britney had actually travelled to Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. This had occurred on the day before the actual hearing. The statement said: “She briefly went there to meet with deputies, but then decided to return home and have a deputy meet her there instead. She had some questions regarding what turned out to be a civil issue.”
Despite the call being made, the judge decided to rule in favour of Britney’s father, Jamie Spears. Therefore, we can expect there to be either further legal action to challenge this decision, or at the very least, further stories of unrest.
In the midst of all this, the #FreeBritney movement has continued to grow in support and publicity. Several high profile stars have come out in defence of the singer. These include Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Iggy Azalea.
While it is good to see Britney having such support, the dispute has created a further division within her family. This was made worse by Britney’s own admission to her recent documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears.’ She confirmed that she regretted doing it and even stated how she cried at the thought of watching it.
This has led to her mother Lynne Spears remaining very coy about what her daughter said during the court hearing. In a prior statement given to The New Yorker, she remarked: “I got mixed feelings about everything. I don’t know what to think. … It’s a lot of pain, a lot of worry.”
