‘The Bachelorette’ Alums Jason Tartick and Dean Unglert Reveal Their Bachelor Contract Offers

The Bachelorette’ alums Jason and Dean want to normalize the conversation around money and started by revealing the offers made to them by Bachelor producers.

Speaking on Jason’s new money podcast Trading Secrets, Bachelorette season 13 star, Dean was not afraid to openly compare notes with Jason who appeared on season 14 of the ABC show.

Both gentlemen confirmed they were not paid to appear as contestants on The Bachelorette. The only person paid for their appearance there is the lead of the show, the namesake Bachelorette (or Bachelor when the roles reverse).

‘The Bachelorette’ Alums Jason Tartick and Dean Unglert Reveal Their Bachelor Contract Offers

It is the spin-offs- Bachelor in Paradise and Bachelor Winter Games where the cast is paid.

Dean appeared on Bachelor in Paradise twice. The first time he was offered $400 a day for an approximately 30 day shoot. Earning $12,000 for the month sounded like a good deal for Dean, but friends advised him to ask for more.

Dean’s request of $800 per day, warranted due to his popularity ,was counteroffered at $600. Dean accepted the new offer but claimed he knew of another on-air talent who was raking in $1,000 per day on the popular spin-off.

Dean then revealed when he was asked to return for season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise, he requested a whopping $20,000 per episode, “or some absurd amount.” Dean confided in Jason, saying he felt vindicated when discussing his worth with producers, but in the end of all counter-proposals, ended up accepting “like $602 a day.”

Dean also appeared in 2018’s The Bachelor Winter Games, earning $400 per day.

Jason, too, said he was approached to join Dean and co. on the beach in Paradise but did not accept producer’s offer of $600 per day with a guarantee of $5,000 total should he appear less than 30 days.

Dean and Jason also discussed the contract offers they both received to be The Bachelor for seasons 22 and 23, respectively. Dean passed on the $75,000 offer and the starring role went to Arie Luyendyk Jr.  Similarly, Jason passed on the $100,000 he was offered to helm the show and Colton Underwood went on to take the lead.

It seems, money aside, all the decisions fell where they should.

Dean is in a long term relationship with Caelynn Miller-Keyes whose story we watched play out on Dean’s second shot in Paradise.

Arie, who took The Bachelor role is married and expecting baby number two and three with his (second) final rose winner, Lauren Burnham.

Jason is now engaged to Kaitlyn Bristowe who took her own two shots at love on season 19 of The Bachelor and as The Bachelorette for season 11.

Colton’s story hasn’t been as easy going, but has recently come out as gay and is now happily living his authentic life.

Here’s hoping the newest Bachelorette, Katie Thurston will find success in her journey. Her story premieres on Monday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
