Telemundo Café con aroma de mujer: Bad choices

Telemundo Café con aroma de mujer reveal we’ve enjoyed Teresa “La Gaviota” Suárez (Laura Londoño). She’s a strong, feisty character who can be a lot of fun. However, she suffers from an affliction in a lot of novela characters. She’s not always that bright.

Last night’s episode was a perfect example of that. It’s also showing a theme that was way more common in the older novelas, but still has a place in the genre today. Let’s take a look at what happened.

Telemundo Café con aroma de mujer: Problematic

So, we love our telenovelas. They’re usually full of crazy stuff. In the case of the Maria Trilogy, they can be so awful, they’re great. Café con aroma de mujer spoilers reveal it’s too early to tell if this one will end up in that category. What we do know is, there is a theme in quite a few.

Namely, snobbery and classism. Characters like María Hernández Rojas De de la Vega (Thalia) are usually looked down on and targeted by those who see themselves as better than.

Usually, because they have money and so-called “class” someone like Maria lacks. This has formed some of the big conflicts in quite a few shows. In Café, it’s Gaviota who’s looked down on. At least, by some.

Telemundo Café con aroma de mujer: Terrible choice

Of course, another thing that marks some novelas leads is a naïve nature, and Gaviota definitely has that as well. In the latest episode, she and her mother, Carmenza Suárez (Katherine Vélez), decided to take action.

See, they’d been offered a plot of land by the very generous boss, Octavio Vallejo (Luis Eduardo Motoa). They felt uncomfortable accepting so much land as a gift, so they insisted on paying him something. They’d given him their whole life savings for that land with plans of making their own coffee.

Of course, Café con aroma de mujer spoilers reveal Octavio is gone now. That left them in need of answers as to their deal with Octavio, as they’d given everything they had for the land. So, they decided it was finally time to get to business.

Of course, Gaviota and her mother ended up deciding to speak to Iván Vallejo (Diego Cadavid). We’re not sure why. Let’s just forget about his inappropriate behavior a few episodes back while drinking.

We think going to the wife would have been a better idea. She might have been more willing to hear them out. Or at least know her husband well enough to realize these two were probably telling the truth.

As it was, Iván turned them away and essentially called them liars. This guy is beyond shady, so even if he knows about the deal, there’s no chance of him honoring it. Not if dad didn’t leave any proof behind that couldn’t be disputed.

Telemundo Café con aroma de mujer: What’s ahead

They made a huge mistake going to him. Now that he knows they are looking for their land or their money, there’s no way he won’t pull out all the stops to destroy these two.

Especially when changes are already happening on the farm that are less than favorable for the workers. He might even set Gaviota up for a crime to discredit her.

Her best bet at this point is to go to Sebastián Vallejo (William Levy). We just don’t think she will. At least, not until she gets really desperate. After a bit of an argument, she refused the TV he brought for her and her mother.

She’s been keeping her distance as well, doing everything possible not to speak to him. But we think before long he’ll figure out something’s going on and approach her. Either that, or the desperation we mentioned will set in. This is what will likely bring these two closer together, and help expose Iván.
