‘Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City’: Jennifer Shah Urges The Judge To Drop The Telemarketing Fraud Charges

The star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City motioned the judge to drop the case on the grounds that there were “legal and factual insufficienc[ies]” preventing a prosecution. And yet, when we look back at the claims, Jennifer is being very bold.

She was accused of defrauding wealthy clients, alongside her assistant Stuart Smith, by selling them various telecom services for their online businesses. The Attorney presiding over the initial case, Audrey Strauss at the time, had said“Jennifer Shah..; [reportedly] generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam.”

Regardless of who is telling the truth, the accusations have had a negative impact on her health. On the morning of her arrest, Jennifer had reportedly received many calls from an unidentified person. Not knowing who it could be, she then panicked when the police arrived in order to carry out her arrest.

That emotional trauma has left her feeling haunted. The court documents stated: “She was in a very vulnerable emotional state due to the…strange phone calls she received the morning of her arrest.” With her future in the balance, the opinion on social media has been divided. A large section of fans have called for Jennifer to be fired from the show, irrespective of the outcome of the trial.

They claim that the star must have known she was engaging in potentially unlawful practices, given how lavish her lifestyle was. While the producers have not fired her yet, the pressure is on Jennifer to get exonerated. But through it all, she has had one star backing her—step forward: Heather Gay.

The duo have remained on good terms throughout the show, and she has urged everyone to give Jennifer a second chance. In a prior interview on the So Bad It’s Good With Ryan Bailey’ podcast, she stated: “I think that good people can do bad things, and she is claiming she is innocent. Even if she gets … wrongfully convicted, she can…redeem herself.”
