‘Real Housewives of Orange County’: Gina Kirschenheiter Drops Her Restraining Order Against Her Ex-Husband Matt Kirschenheiter

The star of the Real Housewives of Orange County made the initial filing after she could no longer stay silent on the assault that Matt had perpetrated against her. The incident was even more distressing given the pair had raised three children together: Nicholas, Sienna and Luca. Naturally, there were major safeguarding concerns over whether it would be safe for Matt to see his kids.

But after having resolved those issues behind the scenes, Gina felt it made no sense to continue with the restraining order. In a statement made on behalf of Gina, her lawyer revealed why she dropped the order. He said: “The parties reached a mutual agreement for that dismissal, and the purpose of the dismissal is to let a co-parenting relationship continue to grow and let the best interest of their children continue.”

This is a huge turnaround given the initial noises that were coming out of Gina’s mouth. She was very vocal about how she feared for her life, and how she had to resort to therapy in order to get over the trauma of the incident. And it all came to a head when she recalled the incident in court, which forced her to break down in tears, much to the horror of everyone.

In her statement given to the court, she remarked: “I thought I was going to die…You responded by saying, ‘Your mom is going to die tonight…Your eyes were completely black, and you were not Matt. It was so hard for me to believe that it was even you, but it was.” Nevertheless, this latest move shows she is ready to move on with her life.

She has the support of her boyfriend, Travis Mullen, who she has been dating since 2019. And by the sounds of it, their relationship could not be going any better. This echoes her previous comments on looking to the future. She stated: “I have managed to forgive you for most of it. I accept that I will always have this painful memory from that night. I’ve come to terms with that.”
