Alexis Bellino has downplayed suggestions that her time on The Real Housewives of Orange County led to her divorce from Jim Bellino.
‘Real Housewives of Orange County’: Alexis Bellino Opens Up On Whether The Show Contributed To Her Divorce
Alexis, for her part, left the show in 2013 as her marital problems with Jim started to become even more noticeable. Although they attempted to resolve such issues in the aftermath of their exits, the pair ended up splitting in 2018. And the show merely reinforced what Alexis was already feeling. During an interview with Us Weekly, she said: “I don’t think Housewives was the reason [for the divorce].
“I had already been having feelings before Housewives that I was fighting back. I was, like, I can’t, you know, we got to work this out.” The pair had tried to salvage their marriage for the sake of keeping their family unit together. During the course of their relationship, they ended up having three children: James, Melania and Mackenna. But it was quite apparent that their issues were beginning to impact the children.
The primary reason was that Alexis no longer wanted the same as what Jim wanted. The latter had an emphasis on keeping things more conservative, with Alexis taking on a more traditional role in the family, while Alexis was focused on making sure that she could expand on her career. She added: “I wanted to be at home.
“So, I did. But then, when Housewives came about, and the kids were getting a little bit older, I wanted something for myself again. I wanted a career again.” Nevertheless, the decision to part ways has worked wonders for several reasons. First of all, she is now happily hooked up with her fiance Andy Bohn. And by the sounds of it, their relationship could not be going any better.
There is even talk that the duo may contemplate walking down the aisle. Not only that, Alexis’ relationship has had a positive impact on her and Jim’s co-parenting. She continued: “I haven’t been to one therapy session with Andy…We just were just meant to be together.” It is great to see Alexis moving on to better things, and long may it continue.
