It’s about time Tristan Thompson got a personal win this week.
The beleaguered NBA star had sued a woman by the name of Kimberly Alexander after she claimed he fathered her now 8 year old son. Alexander requested Thompson take a paternity test, which he did in May of last year. As Maury would say “You are not the father!”
Despite the negative result, Alexander continued to publicly proclaim Thompson was her baby-daddy, smearing his name and accusing the Boston Celtic player of being a deadbeat dad, failing to financially support his child.
Tristan Thompson Granted $50K in Libel Lawsuit Against Paternity Accuser
Now Thompson has been granted a $50,000 default judgment -awarded to cover “general damages” in the libel lawsuit he laid against Alexander. Alexander is also on the hook for $2,901.95 in legal costs.
Khloé Kardashian, Thompson’s now ex-girlfriend (after yet another cheating scandal was exposed), had also sent Alexander a cease-and-desist earlier in June after Alexander admitted to faking DMs between the two women.
The legal letter sent to Alexander said in part “[You have] continued to make outrageous defamatory smears about Khloé, harassing her and trying to drag her into the paternity drama that you have persisted in contriving notwithstanding that a DNA test from one of the nation’s top labs confirmed that Mr. Thompson is not the father of your child.”
Alexander did not show up in court for the initial ruling against her, despite being served with a notice that she was being sued for $100,000 by the professional athlete. She did not attend this week’s court proceedings either and responded to the decision by saying it wasn’t final and she believed more proceedings would take place.
Now we wait to see if she coughs up the $5,0000 and change Thompson, the actual father 3-year-old daughter True, and 4-year-old son Prince was awarded.
