Jennifer Aniston spoke to Howard Stern on The Howard Stern Show about the guest stars on the hit sitcom Jen starred on for 10 years. Specifically she remembered one very rude guest star who appeared on Friends.
Jen didn’t name names, after all, she’s not the rude one, but did dish about the man’s behavior.
Jennifer Aniston Dishes on Rude Guest Star on ‘Friends’
“It was as if they were just too ‘above’ this, to be on a sitcom,” she recalled and spoke of an occasion when the actors were doing a table run-through of the script. According to Jennifer the network and producers were laughing as they heard the script being spoken out loud by the actors for the first time. Meanwhile the rude guest star had mumbled, ‘Listen to them, just laughing at their own jokes. So stupid, not even funny.’
Jen went on to say she was thinking, “What are you doing here? Your attitude, this is not what we’re all about. This is a wonderful, warm place to be, and you’re coming into our home and just sh*t on it.”
Jennifer went on to say there are no hard feelings as the actor apologized about their on-set behavior years later. According to the guest star he let his nerves get the better of him and that he wasn’t on his best behavior.
Though it has not been confirmed, fans of the uber popular comedy believe the actor in question is Fisher Stevens.
Fisher’s guest star role was as Phoebe’s psychiatrist boyfriend Roger in season one and he has admitted he was a huge jerk on-set.
“At that moment in my career, I had never done a sitcom before,” he shared. “I had never heard of Friends because it was just the beginning of the show and I didn’t watch TV at the time much.”
Fisher said he had learned his lines as he flew to Los Angeles to film, only to find when he got to set that the entire script had been rewritten.
“That’s what sitcoms did,” Fisher added, “And I didn’t know that. I was kind of an a–hole, I have to admit.”
The alum of shows like The Blacklist, Lost and Damages admits thinking to himself, ‘So, I have to relearn lines that you’ve written that are worse than what you’d originally written?’ and said, “Yeah, I was a d*ck. I’ve rarely seen any of those people on Friends again, but I’m sure if you asked them about me, they would go, ‘What a New York snob.’”
Yep, it seems like they do think that, if Fisher is the guest star Jennifer was referring to. No wonder they all really loved the line: “I HATE that guy.”
