The Royal Rota Slams Prince Harry For Armchair Expert Podcast

Prince Andrew abusing minor girls? Nothing to talk about. Prince Michael of Kent selling royal access to Putin’s regime? A non-story. But Prince Harry talking about his childhood trauma and how he thinks Prince Charles should have been a better father is what really riles up the royal rota.

In fact, reports out of Britain suggest everyone is up in arms over Prince Harry’s Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, in which he suggests that his father might have passed down genetic pain and unnecessary suffering.

Forget Prince Michael of Kent doing some really shady stuff, this is what has the British press all hot and bothered. Here’s what you need to know.

The Royal Rota Slams Prince Harry For Armchair Expert Podcast

According to the Daily Mail, palace insiders believe that Prince Harry is doing more harm than good by taking one public swipe after another towards his father, Prince Charles.

During his interview with Dax Shepard, Harry suggested that Prince Charles handed him down a “cycle of genetic pain” and that “he treated me the way he was treated,” suggesting that Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth didn’t do such a good job in parenting, either.

Sources say that Buckingham Palace is once again holding their head down in shame, and that’s not because of what Prince Harry said, but because he said it. Apparently, both the palace and Clarence House are feeling frustrated that Harry is continuing to talk so publicly about some deeply personal family relationships.

One source close to the situation said, “They appear to be making careers of talking about their previous ones. It is not helpful.’ Insiders also noted ‘nothing ever appears to be their own fault.’”

Harry said during the podcast, “I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure that I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on. There’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway. We parents, we should be doing the most of we can to try and say, you know what? That happened to me. I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.”

The show promoted his Apple TV+ mental health series with Oprah Winfrey, The Me You Can’t See, which premieres next Friday – and it was also promoted in a tweet by Dax.
