The Duke of Cambridge who? Prince Harry might soon be named as the unofficial King of the Celebrity world with the way that things are going. That’s because Meghan Markle’s husband got the rock star treatment at the star-studded Vax Live concert this past weekend. Here’s what you need to know.
At the concert, video shows the audience going wild, screaming and cheering and jumping to their feet as Harry strolled out on the stage. He was dressed casually in his signature blue shirt.
Prince Harry appeared along with a host of famous names from the worlds of music, film and politics at Global Citizen’s Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.
Prince Harry Gets The Rock Star Treatment At Vax Life Concert
Many of them included President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, David Letterman, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel, Nomzamo Mbatha, Olivia Munn and Sean Penn. The charity performance was in aid of the international Covid vaccination effort. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are campaign chairs for the event.
Speaking to an fully vaccinated crowd, Harry pleaded for vaccines to be “distributed to everyone everywhere”, while also saluting frontline medical workers both at the concert and around the world. He also said that this is a humanitarian crisis that is getting worse.
“Tonight is a celebration of each of you here, the vaccinated frontline workers in the audience and the millions of frontline heroes around the world,” Harry said.
“You spent the last year battling courageously and selflessly to protect us all. You served and sacrificed, put yourselves in harm’s way, and acted with bravery, knowing the costs. We owe you an incredible debt of gratitude.”
“We cannot rest or truly recover until there is fair distribution to every corner of the world,” he added. “The virus does not respect borders and access to the vaccine cannot be determined by geography.”
The concert will be aired on television on May 8th.
