While Ronnie would go on to be released on $100,000 bail, he is not out of the woods yet. He still has a court hearing to attend to, alongside the intensive therapy he is undertaking, in a bid to combat his anger. In an official statement, Ronnie’s lawyers (Scott E. Leemon and Leonard Levine), said: “He is currently seeking medical treatment for psychological issues that he has ignored for a long time.

“His only present goal is to address these issues professionally and make himself [a] better person and the best father.” And yet, we must remember that this is not the first time that Ronnie has been involved in some significant controversy. In 2019, he was arrested on similar charges against his then-lover Jenn Harley. Domestic violence is abhorrent in all circumstances, especially if it is done in the presence of another child.

That is what happened here with Jen. But this time around, there is the prospect that he could face some severe consequences. First of all, at the hearing, there would be the question of whether it was safe to allow Ronnie to see his children. This would apply regardless of whether it would occur with supervision or not.

Secondly, given that he has a history of domestic violence, the judge may not be so favourable to learn that this is the second time that the star has been involved in such a ‘crime.’ Despite the allegations, Ronnie and Saffire downplayed the disruption caused by the incident. This could only be on the basis that it would affect his kids.

Ronnie clearly has problems, but taking his children away is only going to exacerbate them. That is why the pair have remained calm in the face of scrutiny. In a post to their fans on Instagram, they said: “A soulmate is someone who challenges you to be better, someone who can’t stand seeing you sad, someone who stays faithful, loyal and committed to you.”

We await to see what happens at the trial date. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish. Please also visit TVRocker for all of the latest exciting news on all of your favourite daytime television soaps.
