Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler may be on good terms when it comes to co-parenting, but it has not extended to their financial dealings.

The duo decided to split in 2020, following a seven-year marriage. During this time, they would go on to bring up three kids: Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor. While Kristin has stressed that she wants the divorce to go ahead as smoothly as possible, Jay is looking to get every cent that he feels he is entitled to. This extends to Kristin’s brand, Uncommon James.

Sources told TMZ as much: “The reason it’s taking a while to finalize their divorce is because Jay’s seeking 50 percent ownership of Uncommon James, Kristin’s chic jewellery and apparel line.” So why does Jay feel entitled to taking a share? Jay has reportedly claimed that since the company was launched during their marriage, he should be entitled to a share.

Not only that, Jay has previously stated that he has been instrumental in its success. He cites his role in the shipping and designing aspects of the business as laying claim to that. Kristin, though, is not having any of it. This is because she had put up the money to fund it. The source added: “Kristin doesn’t feel she owes him anything from Uncommon James.

“However, because she says Jay didn’t put any of his own money into the company. She claims she funded it … and is pushing back hard.” So how will Kristin deal with this latest setback? Her kids are going to be dragged amid this bitter divorce battle that is only going to cloud their relationship. And this would run contrary to Kristin’s prior comments on making sure that the kids never see Jay in a bad light.

And yet, that is going to be hard to live up to if he seeks to take Kristin’s assets unjustly. During a previous interview with Mr Warburton, Kristin said: “One thing that my mom did was she never said anything bad about my dad. Now that I’m older, I really respect that. I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He’s their father.

“That’s important, and they need to see that from me.” If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish. Please also visit TVRocker for all of the latest exciting news on all of your favourite daytime television soaps.
