A high school in Florida called Bartram Trail High School has digitally altered 80 yearbook photos of female students to mask cleavage. One freshman, Riley O’Keefe, said, “I couldn’t believe that they printed the yearbook looking like that.”
Her yearbook photo doesn’t seem “immodest, revealing or distracting” at all (their rules for clothing), and in fact, seems to draw more attention after they placed black bars over her photo.
“I couldn’t believe that they printed the yearbook looking like that,” said freshman Riley O’Keefe (shown above) after seeing her yearbook photo had been edited. At Bartram Trail High School in Florida, the yearbook for this school year contained 80 digitally altered photos of female students in order to adhere to the district’s dress code. The school prohibits clothing that is “immodest, revealing, or distracting,” according to the district’s code of conduct.”

Viewers commented that, “It’s also creepy to me that some adult was looking through EVERY girls picture for any signs cleavage”, “Stop? sexualizing? children?”, “Yet in that same exact yearbook there are literally pictures of the boys swimming team in nothing but speedos and THAT wasn’t altered.”, “If cleavage is what u see when u find a 9th grader then u have a problem” and “What next? Seriously? I’m asking? Why is this country rolling backwards.”
The strangest part to me is the young girl looks like she’s dressed very modestly, and is nothing compared to what people see on television or on the internet. I have to agree that it’s also creepy to me that there were adults scanning through all of these photos to “find cleavage.” Seems very bizarre to me.
