H3H3 podcast sued for $100M by Jake Paul?

Okay, so apparently Jake Paul and Triller seem to think that Ethan Klein of the H3H3 podcast has done them dirty because the podcast itself is being sued for $100M for piracy.. what? Piracy is that thing that happens when people download the fight to upload on other, free formats for other people, or they stream it for their friends for free over other devices.

Either way, Triller and Jake Paul, even though they said that the fight generated over $65M, that was not enough green for them, so they decided to sue the H3H3 podcast for piracy.

H3H3 podcast sued for $100M by Jake Paul?

Ethan tweeted out that he literally did not stream it or rebroadcast the fight. The H3H3 podcast wasn’t the only ones being sued by Triller and Jake Paul, apparently a lot of websites were named and a few other streamers as well.

Triller is saying that as long as whomever found the back way to stream pays the $49.99 that they charged to watch Jake Paul make an ass of himself that they won’t sue those participants, but if you don’t pay the $50 then they will be suing all parties for $150,000 per instance. Excuse me, but I think that Triller highly overestimated the amount of people who actually care about this fight, but I digress.

So how did Ethan Klein gets wrapped up in this mess? Apparently on the Frenemies podcast, Ethan admitted to pirating the fight by watching it off of one of those websites who were bootlegging it. He did this because he said he did not want to give money to Jake Paul, but it seems like Triller seems to be demanding his $50 anyway.

The only thing that they could have gotten him for is in another podcast on H3H3 he reacted to the knockout punch of the fight which was a 10 second clip and was only posted a week after the fight had already happened. The thing is, the 10 second clip falls under the fair use clause because he wasn’t streaming the entire fight, just a 10 second clip.

They’re trying to say that Ethan broadcasted and reuploaded the entire fight to millions of people, but that literally did not happen. But if they determine that he is gulty, Ethan would have to pay $50 per person who watched this video, which means that with over $200K views he’d end up supporting Jake Paul anyway and probably his estate would be paying for Jake Paul’s great grandkid’s college if this lawsuit was actually going to go through.

I have actually heard that this lawsuit has already been dismissed, at least against Ethan, but the other guys, the ones who did literally stream the event illegally, they’re never going to stop paying those bills. Klein feels like he was lumped into the lawsuit out of spite, and knowing Jake Paul’s camp – that I would not doubt. Stay tuned!!!
