‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Behind Ned Quartermaine’s Sweet Gesture To Brook Lynn!

ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal we recently saw a touching moment between Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Specifically, this centered around her non-existent baby and Ned’s memories of when Brook Lynn was little. Let’s take a look at the gift he gave her, why we see nothing but heartbreak ahead, and a little behind-the-scenes story.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sweet gesture

It hasn’t been easy for this father/daughter pair. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal they’ve been on the outs to one extent or another since Brook Lynn fell for Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) scheme to take over ELQ. Things have gotten better since Brook Lynn was nearly killed by Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and her return to town.

That was evidenced by Ned’s obvious excitement over the baby he believes Brook Lynn is carrying. He wrote a song for the child, reminiscing about when Brook Lynn was a baby as well. To top it off, he gave her a recording of the song so the baby can keep hearing it until Brook Lynn is able to sing. The gift obviously moved her, and this is not good.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: All falls down

You know these soap plots never go the way they’re intended. Eventually, the truth will come out. When that happens, we see an even worse divide between Brook Lynn and the family. In particular, her father will likely be furious and hurt. We don’t blame him at all, this time.

Brook Lynn’s fake baby scheme is, in theory, a nice gesture. She’s trying to make up for her mistake. However, in the process, she’s just setting herself and the family up for something worse that will likely open that ELQ wound right up again. We’re really not sure how Brook Lynn can get out of this mess without being ostracized, but we’ll see.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Fun fact

As for the song, it was written by Kurth himself. The actor wrote, “Thanks Frank for asking me to compose a song for this scene. A nice challenge.  I wisely enlisted Debra to help w the lyrics even though she’d never written a song before.  I couldn’t be happier with my decision.  We had fun collaborating, and now we have write a 2nd verse!”

The fan reaction was strong. Fans quickly showered the actor with praise for the composition, and one even referenced his DOOL character, Justin Kiriakis, expressing a desire for him to sing on that show as well. We’re for that!

Another fan wrote, “That was simply beautiful! Made me tear up. I always get excited when I see scenes with Ned and his guitar!”

Another agreed with our feelings about the situation, saying, “That was sweet is going to be awful when everybody finds out the truth.”

We’re sure the writers will find plenty of other ways to add to the drama of this situation and the emotional fallout. In the meantime, we think we’ll enjoy the moment and that voice.
