So, this is quite interesting. Britney Spears took to her Instagram account to celebrate her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ birthday by posting a throwback photo of the two of them along with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.
This comes almost two months after the ‘Cry Me A River’ issued an apology for being a dog-rotten boyfriend to her during the peak of their careers in the early 2000’s. Here’s what you need to know.
Britney shared her photo over the weekend and wrote “Happy belated birthday to this beautiful soul,” in a photo that features her, Justin, Jamie Lynn Spears and another woman. Jamie Lynn turned 30 on Sunday, April 4th.

“I love you so much and damn it I wish I was as smart as you at 30!!!,” Spears continued. “It’s weird to say that I was basically your momma when you were younger and yes I’m still older but your soul is and always has been wise !!!!
“I’m truly and genuinely inspired by your path and the life you have created for your beautiful children and I’m so f–king proud to call someone as beautiful inside as you my sister!!!,” she added.
Spears went on to praise Jamie Lynn’s strength, recalling her little sister besting her with the wrestling moves when they were children.
“I wish I was as strong as you and happy birthday,” she added.
Yet, a lot of people couldn’t help but wonder why Britney would choose a photo that also included Justin Timberlake in it.
In a statement posted to his Instagram account back in Feburary, the singer issued an apology to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson for “missteps” that he says contributed to “a system that condones misogyny and racism.”
This comes after the fallout he received following the release of the controversial documentary, “Framing Britney Spears.” Justin has also gotten a lot of criticism for his performance with Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl. After Janet’s wardrobe malfunction, it was his actions or maybe even the lack thereof that contributed largely to Janet’s public scrutiny.
“I’ve seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns and I want to respond. I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right. I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism,” Justin said.
