The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) find that there’s a new report that says star Jen Shah is apparently looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow housewife Teresa Giudice as she might be facing a whole lot of time behind bars.
The reality star just plead not guilty to running a telemarketing scheme, as prosecutors blast her as being “at the highest level” of the fraud that netted her at least $5 million in what is being called “crime proceeds.” Yikes.
Jen was arrested and taken into federal custody on Tuesday in Salt Lake City, Utah on the indictment which came down from a Manhattan federal court.

She and her “first assistant,” Stuart Smith, 43, conspired to defraud older and computer illiterate people by operating multi-state telemarketing and in-person sales teams that would sell “essentially non-existent” services and fight consumer efforts to obtain refunds.
Jen might see a maximum sentence of 30 years, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.
However, Jen was not asked to put up a specific amount of bond in the form of cash or property, but Assistant U.S. Attorney Kiersten Fletcher requested during the arraignment to update Shah’s bail conditions.
In a statement to the press, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said, “Jennifer Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful businessperson on ‘reality’ television, and Stuart Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s ‘first assistant,’ allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam.”
“In actual reality and as alleged, the so-called business opportunities pushed on the victims by Shah, Smith, and their co-conspirators were just fraudulent schemes, motivated by greed, to steal victims’ money. Now, these defendants face time in prison for their alleged crimes,” Strauss continued.
