Gretchen Rossi, who made a name for herself on The Real Housewives of Orange County, has continued to call out the show since her departure.
‘Real Housewives of Orange County’: Gretchen Rossi Does Not Miss The Show’s ‘Toxic Environment’
The franchise has been criticised for being dramatised to the point where fans have questioned whether it has been heavily scripted. While there is no categorical evidence to suggest that, Gretchen feels that some of the stories are hard to believe. In an interview on the Getting Real with the Housewives podcast, Gretchen pinpointed Braunwyn-Windham Burke‘s sexuality as symbolising just that point.
She said: “I think there was just a couple of characters on the show that had so much going on in their lives that everyone was just like, ‘Wait, what?’… It felt very inauthentic because, like one day, she’s straight, one day she’s lesbian. You know what I mean? Like it was just kind of confusing.” Gretchen has not hidden her grievances towards the cast.
She has previously spoken on how she no longer talks to another former housewife Tamra Judge. Although the duo have both left the show and have had a chance to reconcile since then, Gretchen made it clear that they are no longer on speaking terms. Nevertheless, Gretchen does not seem to be bothered. In fact, she is glad to put it all behind her.
She added: “The actual day in and day out [a] toxic environment and the stress of like, you know, ‘What somebody’s going to make up about you this week? … What lie are they going to tell about you? … What crap are they talking about you…I am so grateful to no longer have that in my life.”
Since her departure, she has been very busy on a personal and professional level. Gretchen gave birth to her daughter Skylar, and her relationship with her fiance Slade Smiley could not be going any better. As for her business ventures, she has worked in partnership with LifeVac to introduce a new tool to protect kids from choking suddenly.
And for the time being, that is where her focus is. Any prospect of a return to the show has been ruled out.
