Mike Tindall Praises The Royals Over Their Conduct During Prince Philip’s Funeral

Unbeknown to fans, Mike was a rugby player by trade. However, he has connections to the Royals given that his wife is Zara Tindall. In an interview on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, Mike spoke on how the funeral was perfect. He said: “It’s been a difficult ten days. If I look back on the day…I think it was the perfect day, how he would have liked it if that makes sense whatsoever. No fuss, get on with it.”

All eyes were on Queen Elizabeth II, given that she had a lot on her plate. Not only did she have the funeral to contend with, but there was also the arrival of Prince Harry. Harry’s fall out with the Royals has been publicized ever since he gave his interview on CBS. And yet, Mike praised the courage that she had shown. He added: “My love for the Queen was even better.

“She was sat there completely on her own, separated herself in terms of, ‘This is what the world is right now, and I’m going to lead by example.’ And she’s amazing, literally amazing.” The Queen, for her part, did have to adjust her plans. Her birthday, which would usually be a massive public event, was blighted by covid restrictions and the division within her family. And sources confirmed that she was not her usual self.

An insider said: “The Queen had a somber birthday this year. She’s grieving the loss of her beloved husband, Prince Philip, and spent the day with her corgis. She spoke to family members who are rallying together to keep her company.” But with Harry and the Royal family engaging in conversation, it does look like the Queen is in a better place.

While Harry could not stay for the birthday, he did leave something behind. A source revealed: “Prince Harry got to say goodbye to the queen before her birthday and he left her a gift and card from him and Meghan [Markle].” With the Royal family in a happier place, Philip would have been proud.
