Step aside, Gavy Gavs. It looks like former reality television star Caitlyn Jenner is seriously considering a run for Governor of California as the current one, Gavin Newsom, is facing a recall. Here’s what you need to know.
Seeing how the Kardashians couldn’t put one of their own in the White House – Kanye West – they are now hoping to be one of their own in the Governor’s House of California.
There have been rumors circling on social media that Caitlyn was looking to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has currently come under fire and is facing a recall for the way that he has handled the coronavirus pandemic in the state of California.
Yes, Caitlyn Jenner Does Want To Be Governor Of California
Caitlyn Jenner is said to be “actively exploring” a run for governor of California. According to insiders, Caitlyn is being assisted in her consideration by longtime GOP fundraiser and fixer Caroline Wren – whom Jenner supposedly met through her work with the American Unity Fund, a GOP nonprofit focused on LGBTQ issues.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long at all for both fans and critics to weigh in on the matter. Many of them took to social media to write, “Being an activist takes too much effort. The other Kardashians get rich and famous by filming themselves standing around the kitchen bitching about makeup or tweeting photos of themselves with their convenience baby cropped out. This entire thing reeks of publicity stunt.”
Along with, “The country will be a joke, if famous people chosen govern the country/state/cities, instead of people whose qualified that understands what needs to get done to turn the country into a healthy one that functions well. This is done by prioritizing education so that people aren’t dumbed down. And also holding those that fk up responsible.”
Another critic wrote, “I don’t understand how she chose become Republican. They offer bigger tax breaks for the rich. But they never supported sexual freedom. This just doesn’t make sense.”
Yet, back in February Caitlyn Jenner shot down reports that suggested she’s running for governor.
Caitlyn is not running for governor, has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children,” Jenner’s manager Sophia Hutchins said in a statement to People Magazine.
