Speaking about the matter during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Arnold said, “The key thing about all of this is it doesn’t matter if it’s Caitlyn or anyone else — to have a clear vision of where you want to go, what are the kind of changes you want to make and why are you qualified to become governor. That’s what you have to convince the people. All the other stuff is all nonsense because the press will attack you no matter who you are. They attacked me but then, in the end, I won, so that was the main thing.”
“Anyone has a chance because I think that the people are dissatisfied with what’s going on here in California,” he added.
Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom has seen his approval rating plummet in response to his strict lockdown measures he placed on businesses and the state’s closure of schools. It’s been noted that neither of which played a strong role in actually stopping the spread of coronavirus in the state.
As a result, a recall effort was launched that announced in mid-March it had reached nearly 2 million signatures, well above the 1.5 million needed to force an election.
