Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson spoke about his bout of depression during his freshman year at The University of Miami on his social media. He suffered an injury and had to sit out the entire season, and this led to him skipping classes, team meetings and in December, he just left altogether.

I got badly injured and had to sit out my entire season.
I stopped going to class, team meetings and – like a fucking idiot – I left school in December without taking any of my midterms.
Just said, I’m out ✌?I lied to my parents, coaches and teammates. Eventually, it caught up with me and I was placed on academic probation in danger of losing everything. My scholarship, opportunities etc.
It was at a time in my life where it seemed like everyone was telling me I was fucking up – and I was.
These days, it’s called depression.
But back then it was called “get your fucking ass off the couch and get your shit together”.
I was at a crossroads that so many of us go thru.
I realized I wasn’t alone and asking for help isn’t a weakness – it’s our power.
I turned my college life around, became academic captain of our football team and graduated with a Magna Cum Laude degree in scar tissue and fanny packs ?✊?
Finally, a BIG SHOUT OF RESPECT & GRATITUDE to our phenomenal actor @ulilatukefu who beautifully brought to life a very defining rollercoaster of my highs and lows.
