‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers have found that fans of the TLC reality series can really discover how it feels to be a Plath–by renting their old farmhouse!
If you’d like to be denied sugar, be homeschooled and not have the foggiest who Tom Brady is, this is the getaway for you!
The Plath family home, seen in season one of the series that has intrigued fans due to the strict and often haphazard-seeming family rules (no Christian Rock music, but feel free to pile on the mascara) is now on the vacation rental site, Air BnB.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: You Can Stay at the Plath Family Home for Under $250 a Night!
After the Plath family moved to their new home in Cairo, GA, they chose not to sell the farmhouse, a mere 5 miles away, and instead rent it out. Not really sure how that works seeing as the family claims to be largely “unplugged” from the internet.
The ‘Farmhouse at The Retreat at Silver Rein’ (as it is titled in Air BnB) is a 55-acre property on the outskirts on Wingham, GA.
It comprises of 7 beds in 3 bedrooms (which must have been squishy for the 11 person family) and 2 bathrooms (see previous comment).
There is a wood stove in the home and a very recognizable living room and kitchen. Unfortunately it seems Lydia Plath and her cooking skills don’t come with the rental.
The home does, however come with a television so guests can watch Welcome to Plathville for a truly meta experience!
The listing does not mention anything about the extra space that was Lydia’s prayer closet or the nook where Moriah scrawled angsty lyrics on the wall, but it does mention that feed for the cows and horses on the property is included in the price of the rental.
So, how much are Kim and Barry charging guests to stay at the farmhouse? A one-night stay over the weekend will set you back $249. If you want to save $5 you can stay during the week for $244 per night.
The 34 reviews give The Farmhouse at The Retreat at Silver Rein 5 stars. Kim is counted as a “Superhost“ and the reviews rave about her hospitality! Huh, if only she could show that hospitality to her oldest children and daughter-in-law!
So- who’s coming with me to Georgia to stay like a Plath at The Farmhouse at The Retreat at Silver Rein?
