WE tv Mama June Spoilers find that a fifth installment in the Mama June (aka June Shannon) reality debacle will be coming back to WeTV in March. This season, Mama June: Road to Redemption will follow Mama June’s life after rehab. She’ll face the uphill battle of regaining her family’s trust and staying clean, sober and out of jail.
The trailer that dropped on Monday is narrated by Mama June’s 21-year-old daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon Efird. In it she explains some of the trauma Mama June’s antics have inflicted on the family.

“She just wants us all to go back to the way things used to be,” Pumpkin explains, “but after destroying our family, we aren’t sure if we want her in our lives. We’re all struggling with our own problems.”
15 year old Alana Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo tearfully admits, “You don’t know how many nights I cried myself to sleep.”
It seems as the season goes on, Mama June will learn she needs more than empty promises to win her kids back, but as she sets out to do the hard work, the threat of a jail sentence looms.
Mama June was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia (a crack pipe) in March 2019.
“I may go to jail and never see my kids again. I’m scared s**tless,” she confesses to the cameras.
Mama June and Honey Boo Boo first rose to fame in TLC’s controversial reality series Toddler and Tiaras. The then 5 year old Honey Boo Boo wasn’t the most competitive of child beauty queens (there’s a sentence you’d hope to never write) but had a personality that was larger than life.
The gregarious youngster garnered herself a spin off series, also on TLC, called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. It was here we were introduced to Alana’s sisters Pumpkin, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell and her mild-mannered father, Mike Sugar Bear Thompson.
The family was dropped by TLC after four seasons when (divorced) Mama June was found to be dating the same man that molested her eldest daughter.
WeTV then came in and picked up the Shannon/Thompson clan, this time revolving their show around the matriarch. Mama June: From Not to Hot centered around Mama June’s dramatic weight loss and ran for three seasons before the drug arrest. The fourth season was rebranded to Mama June: Family Crisis.
And that’s how we got here!
