Tiger Woods ‘Recovering And In Good Spirits’

In an official statement on behalf of Tiger, it was revealed that the procedures had been successful, much to the delight of his fans and the broader public. It said: “Tiger has moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and received follow-up procedures on his injuries this morning. The procedures were successful, and he is now recovering and in good spirits.

“Tiger and his family want to thank you all for the wonderful support and messages they have received over the past few days. We will not have any further updates at this time.” And Tiger’s family concluded things by thanking everyone for their support in what must have been a horrific time.

“We thank everyone for the overwhelming support and messages during this tough time. As previously communicated, Tiger was involved in a single-car accident earlier this morning in California. He has undergone a long surgical procedure on his lower right leg and ankle after being brought to the hospital.”

It is good to see Tiger on the mend. At one point, it was questionable whether he would ever return to the golf course. Although his return is not definitive at this stage, the likelihood of it occurring has increased. This is in stark contrast to the messages given at the time of the accident, when things looked very bleak. Dr Anish Mahajan, who is the chief medical officer at Harbor-UCLA, was very blunt on Tiger’s injuries.

He said at the time: “Mr Woods suffered significant orthopaedic injuries to his right lower extremity that were treated during emergency surgery by orthopaedic trauma specialists at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, a level 1 trauma centre. Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia.

“Additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were stabilized with a combination of screws and pins. Trauma to the muscle and soft-tissue of the leg required surgical release of the covering of the muscles to relieve pressure due to swelling.” Let us hope Tiger can return to the golf course and continue doing what he knows best.
