Where’s a giant q-tip prop when you need one? All of a sudden it seems like CNN anchor Chris Cuomo can’t talk about his brother Andrew Cuomo, despite the fact that the New York Governor is making a lot of headlines these days.
Not only is he being accused of under reporting the number of deaths that occurred at nursing homes in the state of New York and under his watch, but there are now three women who have gone on the record to accuse Andrew of sexual harassment.
But that doesn’t seem to be much of Chris Cuomo’s concern, even though he is a journalist on one of the biggest news networks in the world. Here’s what you need to know.
Chris Cuomo All Of A Sudden Can’t Talk About His Brother Andrew Cuomo’s Sexual Harassment Allegation Woes
During his latest broadcast this week, Chris explained why he “obviously” won’t be covering his brother’s sexual harassment controversy.
Chris said, “Obviously I am aware of what’s going on with my brother. And obviously I cannot cover it, because he is my brother. Now, of course CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so.”
“I have always cared very deeply about these issues and profoundly so,” Cuomo, 50, added. “There’s a lot of news going on that matters also, so let’s get after that.”
Gov. Cuomo is facing sexual harassment allegations from two female former aides who described an unsettling power dynamic in the Governor’s office. Gov. Cuomo denied ever inappropriately touching anyone, but acknowledged some of his comments may have been insensitive.
It’s also been noted that the Andrew Cuomo story is front and center on CNN’s homepage, along with a link to Chris Cuomo’s statement on the story.
