Kelly Dodd has confirmed she will still be on the Real Housewives of Orange County despite the constant rumours to the contrary. There has been increasing speculation that she will be fired.

In a post on her Twitter, she revealed how the rumours were not out of the ordinary: “It’s actually kinda funny … I’ve heard these rumours every year for the last five years. Looking forward to my sixth season, #RHOC 16!” This was quite a retraction from Kelly’s recent social media activity when her biography was changed to “Proud veteran cast member of #RHOC.”
Nevertheless, there was nothing untoward in that change as insiders revealed that her husband, Rick Leventhal, had done those changes: “Rick made the edit Sunday to remove the beverage reference and added ‘veteran’ to reflect Kelly’s longtime tenure on the show. He never intended to suggest she’s no longer a cast member because she is still with the RHOC franchise.” Kelly has since changed it back.
She has not helped herself given that she has made controversial comments in the past and none more so than on covid 19. During a dinner, she mocked the covid guidelines and was heard saying: “I’m not a super spreader because there’s nothing to spread. We all got the vaccine, and we don’t have it, so there’s nothing to spread about superspreaders.”
And the pressure on Kelly has been increasing as her partnership with Positive Beverage came to an end. The founder Zach Muchnick told Us Weekly at the time: “Today was a rough day: our stakeholder, Kelly Dodd, was distanced from our company as an ambassador of the brand after the recent weeks and days of social media presence, indicating her opinions about people and the pandemic.
“Unfortunately, these values weren’t aligned with our tone and priorities of inclusion, diversity, wellness and health within every pillar of daily life. While she remains a minority shareholder in the company, we made the decision today to formally sever ties with her endorsement and likeness with our brand so that we can continue our charge to spread good vibes and healthy hydration to everyone!”
